Details of the events The Department of Physical Education and Sports organized various activities as a part of 100-days countdown, containing various programs: Fundamentals of Yoga, Common Yoga Protocol, Yogasana competitions, essay writing, quiz contests with 30 question, and expert lecture by Dr. V. V. B. N Rao, former-director of physical education UoH.

Fundamentals of Yoga: Conducted the Yoga classes on fundamentals of yoga and benefits of Yoga by Dr. K. Saritha Devi from 6AM – 7AM 11/04/2025-30/04/2025 for 20 days for all the students and university community.

Common Yoga protocol: Conducted the common yoga protocol by P Mallikarjun Reddy for students and university community from 6PM-7PM 01/05/2025-30/05/2025 for 30 days

Yogasana Competition: Conducted the Yogasana competition by Dr. K. Saritha Devi and P Mallikarjun Reddy for students and university community.

Essay Writing Competition: Conducted essay writing competition on the topic “yoga and life style management” to all University Community on 12-04-2025 (1st Place B Vishal and 2nd Place Sushma M)

Quiz Competition: Quizzes related yoga to all students with 30 questions

Under the guidelines of Government of India, Ministry of Education. We conducted various events by provided live streaming yoga program and participated with Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi on big screen in the Gurubaksh Singh Maiden.

The University of Hyderabad humbly celebrated the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, As one of the recorded institutions for the nationwide Yoga Sangam initiative—held across over 1,00,000+ locations in India—our university actively participated in the mass Common Yoga Protocol demonstration.

The event was initiated by Prof. B. J. Rao, Vice Chancellor, in the attendance of Prof. Srinivasa Rao, Dean of Students’ Welfare, and Dr. Anjeneya Swami Kare, In-charge, Department of Physical Education and Sports.

Winners were appreciated with prizes during the ceremony. Following the prize distribution, participants watched the Prime Minister’s address on the eve of IDY 2025, shadowed by Common Yoga Protocol in a synchronized manner.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff of Department of Physical Education and Sports for their careful planning and implementation of the event. Special thanks are also due to the Public Relations Office (PRO) team, CNF team, Sanitation Department, and the Horticulture Department for their valuable support in ensuring the success of the celebrations. The event concluded with National Anthem followed by breakfast distribution.
