Roshni Ravindran, a final-year student of the Integrated M. Optometry (6-Year) programme at the School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad, has made the institution proud by representing it at the Australasian Experimental Psychology Conference (EPC) and Asia Pacific Conference on Vision (APCV) Joint Meeting 2025.

The joint conference, held at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, from June 17–20, 2025, is a premier academic gathering in the field, promoting experimental psychology and vision research.

Roshni presented her Master’s research project, “Legal Aspects and Cases Reported Against Eye Care Professionals in India: A Case Study”, conducted under the supervision of Dr. Shiva Ram Male, Assistant Professor, and course coordinator I.M.Optometry programme.

Prof. Ramesh Kumar Mishra, Dean, School of Medical Sciences, congratulated Roshni and Dr. Male on this achievement, highlighting the unique integrated clinical and research training pathway offered by the Optometry programme at UoH.

He further appreciated the initiative shown by young MSc students in representing UoH’s global academic standards on international platforms. Prof. Mishra emphasized that this success also reflects the strong culture of interdisciplinary research fostered within the School of Medical Sciences—bringing together cognitive science, vision science, public health, and clinical training to enable students to make impactful global contributions. He affirmed that such collaborative academic environments are critical to positioning UoH as a hub of innovation and excellence in healthcare research.
