Prof. Chetan Srivastava, faculty at the School of Management Studies and Chairman of the Placement Guidance and Advisory Bureau (PGAB) at the University of Hyderabad, was invited as a panellist to discuss the “Impact of India-UK Free Trade Agreement on Indian Businesses and Trade” at an event organized by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) on 3rd July, 2025 at Hotel Avasa, Hitech City, Hyderabad.

Prof. Srivastava provided an overview of the India-UK journey since Independence, highlighting India’s rich heritage and cultural significance. He emphasized India’s potential as a key player in Indo-UK geo-economics, with goods and services in high demand in the UK.

Prof. Srivastava identified regulatory norms, safety standards, infrastructure gaps, VISA policies, and dispute resolution as key challenges in implementing the Free Trade Agreement. Despite challenges, Prof. Srivastava expressed positivity about the India-UK Free Trade Agreement, anticipating win-win partnerships and business opportunities for both countries.

The panel discussion was moderated by Ms. Khayti Naravane, Vice-President, Quantra Quartz, Former CEO at The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) and featured esteemed panellists, including His Excellency Gareth Wynn Owen, British Deputy High Commissioner, and Mr. Akshay SC, Joint Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Mr.Hemant Jain, President, PHDCCI, Dr.Ranjeet Mehta, CEO, PHDCCI, Mr.Gautam Jain, Chairman & Managing Director, Pokharna Group.
