The University of Hyderabad proudly announces that Ahmed Humed Abdella, a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Political Science, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been appointed as the Head of the Peace and Security Bureau of the Afar National Regional State in Ethiopia, a cabinet-level post equivalent to the position of Home Minister in Indian states.

– Leading law enforcement agencies – Designing and executing regional peace strategies
– Coordinating cross-border security efforts
– Promoting institutional accountability and public safety
Ahmed continues to pursue his doctoral research at the University of Hyderabad, focusing on traditional conflict resolution mechanisms and contemporary security governance among the Afar people.
