Ananya Pillai, a third-year Integrated Master of Arts student in Language Sciences from the College for Integrated Studies (CIS), University of Hyderabad (UoH) 2023 batch been selected for the prestigious MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Scholarship 2026 under the Research Student category.

Ananya selected for the MEXT Scholarship which is a fully funded initiative by the Government of Japan aimed at promoting international research and academic exchange. It provides an opportunity for selected students to pursue research and higher studies at leading Japanese universities, with coverage of tuition fees, living expenses, and travel allowances.
Ananya’s academic interests lie in linguistics, language policy, and computational approaches to language research. Over the course of my studies, I have actively engaged in research-oriented projects and internships at ICFOSS, Thiruvananthapuram and at the Department of linguistics in Central university of Kerala, which have helped me build a strong foundation for pursuing advanced research opportunities.
She look forward to continue her academic journey through this opportunity and hope to make meaningful contributions in the field of linguistics and language research.
