This placement focuses on the functional significance of deadenylase genes, CNOT7 and CNOT8 in regulating breast cancer metastasis in cellular stress. This will not only help to unravel the mechanism of tumor metastasis but also suggest consideration of these genes as potential therapeutic targets in cancer. The undergoing study is part of a collaborative research activity between Prof. Manavathi and the researchers from the University of Nottingham. This placement aims at providing further insights into the studies done at Manavathi’s research lab in the Department of Biochemistry. And this will be part of Salam’s Ph.D. work, which will be submitted to the University of Hyderabad.
