The American Chemical Society (ACS) flagship outreach event ACS on Campus was organized by the School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad (UoH) on July 12, 2017.

With more than 157000 members, ACS is the largest chemical society in the world. ACS journals are known for their rigor and recognized as most trusted, most cited, most read having >500 global top scientific editors and >2.4 million citations.

15 membered ACS delegations visited the School of Chemistry and the School of Life Science and conducted a day long program comprising various interactive session with Prof. Appa Rao Podile, Vice-Chancellor, UoH, faculty members of School of Chemistry, School of Life Science and the research scholars.

ACS Editors speakers Professors Shiv Halasyamani, Associate Editor, Inorganic Chemistry, George Schatz, EIC, Journal of Physical Chemistry, Deqing Zhang, Co-Editor, ACS Omega, Rinti Banerjee, Associate Editor, ACS Biomaterial Science and Engineering, Kumar Biradha Associate Editor, Crystal Growth & Design advised students about how to effectively communicate their research and 10 tips for scholarly publishing. Around 350 people attended the day-long event.

Every year ACS organizes these outreach events in India at different research institutions. The interaction of ACS Team with the faculties and especially with the students at the UoH was remarkable.
