A two-week All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Sponsored Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Research Methodology using Excel, SPSS and R programming was inaugurated on 20th November 2017 at the School of Management Studies, University of Hyderabad (UoH).
Speaking on the occasion Prof. Appa Rao Podile the Chief Guest and the Vice-Chancellor, UoH reiterated the need for Quality in teaching & research for Post-Graduate teachers. He said, “Research helps a teacher become a good teacher and a good teacher, a better teacher”. “Professors should engage themselves in cutting edge research and help students become more readily employable’, he added.
Prof. B. Raja Shekhar, the Dean of the School and Coordinator of the FDP has formally welcomed the delegates and spoke about the need for such FDPs in one’s career. He has also emphasized the need for learning and applying the new tools and techniques that emerge from time to time.
The programme being organised by the School of Management Studies (SMS) is scheduled from 20-NOV-2017 to 03-DEC-2017. As many as 50 faculty members in the area of Business Management from 13 states, 16 Universities and 32 Institutions across India will benefit from this programme.
Facilitated by the Resource person from the School of Management Studies, other Schools of the University and few other resource persons form the universities across India, this two-week programme will help the participants gain new insights into the issues in Research methodology and also help them get hands-on practice on the research software tools such as Microsoft Excel, SPSS and R programming.
Dr. Lokanandha Reddy Irala, the Associate Coordinator of the FDP has detailed the objectives and outcomes of the programme and thanked the AICTE for having sponsored the programme. Dr. Chetan Srivastava faculty in SMS proposed the vote of thanks.
