Ms Anagha Prasad, a PhD scholar under the supervision of Dr G. Kishore Kumar in the Centre for Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Science, University of Hyderabad, was selected for the Scientific Committee on Solar-Terrestrial Physics (SCOSTEP) Visiting Scholar (SVS) Program. The objective of the SVS program is to provide training to graduate students in well-established solar terrestrial physics laboratories and institutions, for periods of between one and three months. About 10 scholars per year will be funded under this program.

Anagha Prasad

She’ll be working with Prof. J. L. Chau at the Leibniz Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP), Germany, for 3 months, researching “Characteristics and Momentum & Heat Flux of the Quasi-Two-Day Wave (QTDW)” Her PhD work involves estimating the momentum and heat flux of atmospheric waves, ranging from short-period gravity waves to long-period planetary waves, in the mesosphere-lower thermosphere (MLT) region using meteor radar observations.

This program will expand her research & international collaborations, contributing to the field of atmospheric science!

Congratulations, Anagha!
