Dr. Annapurna Sinha, from the Department of Communication, S N School of Arts & Communication, University of Hyderabad (UoH) joined Bina Nusantara University International (BINUS) as a Lecturer in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Dr. Annapurna, who completed her doctoral work under the supervision of Prof. Kanchan K. Malik on community newspapers in India, has started teaching in the Faculty of Computing and Media at BINUS from July 1, 2022.
Dr. Annapurna’s research interests include: communication for development and social change, community media, and gender and media. Her book, Community Newspapers in India: Manifestations and Metamorphosis is forthcoming from the prestigious international publisher, Routledge. She has published articles in international journals and edited volumes, besides presenting papers in international conferences.
Dr. Annapurna also holds M.Phil Degree in Media Studies, and a dual Master’s in Mass Communication and Economics. She obtained her professional journalism degree from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi and worked with leading business dailies, including, the Economic Times, Business Standard, and Business Bhaskar in New Delhi before embarking on her academic career.
