Archana Narayanan, School of Management Studies, University of Hyderabad (UoH) presents paper titled “Modelling Financial Rumours: An Agent-Based Modelling Approach” at the 19th annual Social Simulation Conference (SSC 2024) held at the Cracow University of Economics, Poland.
Thank the ESSA@work chair professors Vivek Nallur, University College Dublin, Christian Kammler, Umea University, and Katharina Luckner, University of Hamburg, for providing detailed review comments, greatly enhancing my work. The presentation was followed by feedback from two expert modelers and the audience.
She thanked Lois Vanhee, Melania Borit, and Fredrike Wall for organizing a workshop on Technical and non-technical aspects of modeling human decisions as part of the Special Interest Group MOOD (Models of Human Decisions). It enhanced her thought process as participants representing various stakeholders discussed common difficulties in modeling human decisions and the way forward.
Agent-based modeling (ABM) is extensively practiced in Europe, Japan, and Australia, where national governments and modelers work together to support decision-making and policy design. She is glad that the European Social Simulation Association (ESSA) recognized our work and was keen to extend its activities in India to enhance public policy with Agent-Based Models.
She is grateful to her co-author, Professor Vijaya Bhaskar Marisetty, for his unwavering support and guidance and also thank the IoE, University of Hyderabad and R. Prashant Kumar Sir for their support, without which my participation would not have been possible. She also thanked Prof. Marcin Czupryna and the other organizers, who took great care and ensured a great learning experience.
