Only research scholar from India among the 30 selected from all over the world

Ms Malyashree Mandal, research scholar at the UGC-Centre for the Study of Indian Diaspora, University of Hyderabad (UoH), has been awarded the Asian Graduate Research Fellowship from the Asia Research Institute (ARI) at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

This is a very prestigious graduate fellowship in which only 30 Ph.D. students are selected from all over the world. During the fellowship these participants attend lectures and visit the libraries. As part of their programme at NUS, Ms. Mandal will be given an opportunity to present a synopsis of her research and to describe how her stay at NUS has affected her intellectual development. Ms. Mandal is the only candidate selected from India. She is working for Ph.D. on Indian Labour Migrants in Singapore and Gulf Countries under the supervision of Dr. Amit Kumar Mishra, Faculty in the UGC-Centre for the Study of Indian Diaspora. Ms. Mandal will be eligible for a pro-rated monthly allowance of Singapore Dollars 1,250/- during the eight weeks fellowship period at NUS.
