Mr. Bhargava Bharam, pursuing PhD in Public Health at the School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad, under the joint supervision of Prof. Mahadev Kalyankar and Prof. C.T. Anitha presented his research work at the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) World Diabetes Congress 2025, held at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bangkok, Thailand during April 7th to 10th, 2025.
The congress brought together over 6,800 delegates from more than 165 countries and territories, united in the mission to improve the lives of people with diabetes and those at risk worldwide. Bhargava’s research work focused on the Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and metabolic health among information technology employees in India. The paper titled “Shift Work, Sleep Deprivation and Metabolic Risk Factors among Information Technology Employees in India” was selected for poster presentation.
This year’s congress marked 75 years of the International Diabetes Federation. IDF World Diabetes Congress is one of the world’s most prestigious diabetes conferences connecting many prominent diabetes experts, healthcare professionals, and advocates who are working to shape the future of diabetes care and prevention. Mr. Bhargava Bharam extends his heartfelt thanks to his guides, Prof. Mahadev Kalyankar and Prof. C.T. Anitha, for their invaluable support and guidance throughout this journey.
