Arulmozi, Faculty members from CALTS and Dr. Pragya Sengupta, Alumna of CALTS, currently a Faculty Member at VIT-AP participated in the Translation Research Summer School 2024 held at the Baker Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies, Institute for Corpus Studies and Applications, Shanghai International Studies University from 24-29 June 2024. The TRSS24 offered cutting-edge, intensive research training that addressed the evolving needs in translation and interpreting studies with engaging and recent developments in the field. Professors Mona Baker, Sue-Ann Harding, Kyung Hye Kim and Maialen Marin-Lacarta led the discussions on Actor Network Theory, Corpora and Translation Studies, Retranslation, Memory and Translation, Ethnographic Methods and Translation Studies, and Activism and Translation. The Summer School ended with detailed presentation from the participants and submission of a Research Proposal.

The Summer School helped in gaining newest insights into the recent development in the field of Translation Studies. Further, the Institute of Corpus Studies and Applications at Shanghai International Studies University has expressed keen interest in initiating research and academic collaboration with the Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies in terms of research projects, joint supervision, students’ and faculty exchange programs, organizing joint events, etc.
