Crossing Seas: Maritime Connection between the Medieval Malabar Coast and China

Mr Hafis C, a doctoral candidate under the supervision of Prof. Suchandra Ghosh, Department of History, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) presented a paper titled “Crossing Seas: Maritime Connection between the Medieval Malabar Coast and China,” at the “10^th Young Scholars’ Forum in Chinese Studies,” held in Hong Kong from May 23 to 25, 2024.

The conference was organized by the Chinese University of Hong Kong – The Chinese University of Hong Kong—Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation Asia-Pacific Centre for Chinese Studies and the Institute of Chinese Studies. His paper, focused on the importance of the southwest coast of India in the medieval maritime silk route and his invitation was fully funded by the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
