5-day FDP inaugurated at UoH

The 5-day Online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Data Analytics: Tools & Techniques” being organized by the School of Management Studies, University of Hyderabad (UoH) was inaugurated today, 20th September, 2021 by Professor B.J. Rao, Vice-Chancellor, UoH.

Inaugurating the FDP Prof. B. J. Rao said, “Data Science assumes importance in today’s big data world as it drives innovation and regular practice. Hence given this importance of Data Science in all walks of human life, the program of this nature and magnitude will help a larger audience to gear up to the challenges of the data driven world.”

200 participants have been selected from the 400 applications received for the FDP as per the norms of AICTE and majority of the participants comprise teachers from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu, said Dr. Irala L. Reddy, FDP Coordinator who is a faculty in the School of Management Studies, UoH.

Dr. Reddy further informed all the participants and guests of honour that a separate website has been designed for the purpose of the FDP and all relevant details like the schedule of the programme, session-wise links, resources person names & their credentials, mandatory attendance sheets, videos of the lectures (including that of previous years), etc. have been made available to the participants on this website.

Prof. Mary Jessica, Dean, School of Management Studies, UoH, Prof. B. Raja Shekhar, School of Management Studies, UoH (Former PVC & Director ATAL FDP-2020) were present at the programme.

In his valedictory remarks, Dr. Reddy informed all the participants and guests of honour that the School of Management Studies, UoH is the first School to start a full-time Management course on Business Analytics during the Academic Year 2019 under the Deanship of Prof. B. Raja Shekhar. He also thanked all the guests of honour, participants, AICTE, ATAL Academy (for the financial support) and all other associated sections/staff and wished the participants to benefit immensely by attending this FDP.
