Debankita Das, a Ph.D. student at the Department of History, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) working under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Suchandra Ghosh, successfully presented a paper titled “Representation of Cultural Networks, Materiality of Commemoration and Practices of Restoration: A study of the site of Kanaganahalli (1st century BCE – 3rd century CE)” in Memory, Ecology and Sustainability conference during 20-22 September 2023 at IIT Madras.
The paper is a part of the ongoing research project entitled “Representation, Self-representations, and Narrations: Exploring the twin sites of Sannati and Kanaganahalli in northern Karnataka in the Early Historic Period” funded by the Institute of Eminence (IoE) programme. Prof. Suchandra Ghosh is the Principal Investigator. This was the Second Annual International Conference of the Indian Network for Memory Studies (INMS) held in association with the Centre for Memory Studies (CMS) of IIT Madras.
