Deepika Kashyap, PhD Research Scholar at the Department of Communication, S.N School of Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad has been selected for The Training School on Methods of Digital Scholarship, Institute of Archaeology, University of Cologne, Germany from 4th February, 2020 to 7th February, 2020.She has been awarded 700 Euros as a trainee under the COST Action CA 15201.

COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) provides networking opportunities for researchers and innovators in order to strengthen Europe’s capacity to address scientific, technological and societal challenges.

As nations and the European Union (EU) are making considerable investments in technologies, infrastructures and standards for all aspects of working with archaeological knowledge, critical understanding of how this knowledge is produced and used remains fragmentary. This COST Action will overcome this fragmentation by forming a transdisciplinary network that brings together the knowledge from individual research projects, national initiatives and EU projects (e.g. CARARE, LoCloud, Europeana Cloud, ARIADNE, DARIAH) in the field of archaeological knowledge production and use. This Action is an acute priority and prerequisite for ensuring the expected benefits of the large-scale investments in the cultural heritage sector.

Deepika Kashyap is working under the supervision of Dr. P Kennedy, Associate Professor, Department of Communication, University of Hyderabad. Currently she is a visiting PhD fellow at Department of Estonian and Comparative Folklore, University of Tartu, and working under the guidance of Prof. Ülo Valk.
