Mrs. Devarakonda S SuryaBindu, PhD student (Materials Engineering) of the School of Engineering Sciences and Technology (SEST), University of Hyderabad (UoH) was awarded the Best Oral Presentation Award in the Energy Materials session at the National Symposium of Research Scholars-2025 held at IIT Kanpur during 28th February-2nd March 2025. Mrs. Bindu’s presentation was titled “A Novel Conversion of Biomass into Onion-Like Carbons: An Excellent Electrode Material”.

Several PhD students from IITs, NITs, and other premier institutes presented their works in the Energy Materials session. NSRS is an annual event that brings together PhD scholars from across India, covering diverse fields such as Materials Engineering, Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Functional Materials, etc. It is an honor to present her work, engage with experts in a vibrant academic setting, and be awarded the Best Oral Presentation Award. Mrs. Bindu received the award from Prof. Kantesh Balani, Yadupati Singhania Memorial Chair, Professor, Materials Science and Engineering, IIT Kanpur.
