Dr Aarti N. Nagpal and Dr N.D.S. Naga Seema of the Centre for Health Psychology, University of Hyderabad (UoH) have been selected for the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) Award-2020 for the best research work in Ph.D. This prestigious award is conferred on them in January 2022 by the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology (IAAP), one of the oldest professional bodies in India that is dedicated to the field of Psychology.
Dr Aarti N. Nagpal has pursued her doctoral research on reproductive health of adolescents under the supervision of Dr N.D.S. Naga Seema, UoH. The title of her PhD thesis is “Minimising reproductive health risk behaviour in adolescent girls: Efficacy of an integrated psychosocial intervention model”. Dr Aarti N. Nagpal, being the alumnus of the University of Hyderabad and former President of the UoH Students’ Union, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, GITAM School of Humanities and Social Sciences, GITAM (Deemed to be University), Hyderabad campus.
Dr N.D.S. Naga Seema is currently an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Health Psychology, School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad. Dr Seema is a recipient of Young Scientist Award 2010 instituted by the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology. Her research activities are focussed primarily on Health Psychology and specifically on Community Health Psychology, Health Communication, Biopsychosocial Health of Women, and Yoga. Her primary area of teaching includes Developmental Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Health Communication, and Social Psychology. Dr Seema has also launched programme under MOOCS—a flagship programme of Government of India. She has to her credit several national and international publications.
