Dr. Anita Jagota, Professor at the Department of Animal Biology, School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad has been selected as the Expert Member of Subject Expert Committee (SEC) in the subject area of Bio-Sciences and Biotechnology by the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE), Department of Science & Technology.

Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) is an innovative programme sponsored and managed by the Department of Science & Technology for attraction of talent to Science. The basic objective of INSPIRE is to communicate to the youth of the country the excitements of creative pursuit of science, attract talent to the study of science at an early age and thus build the required critical human resource pool for strengthening and expanding the Science & Technology system and R & D base.

Dr. Anita Jagota is currently a professor at the Department of Animal Biology, School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad. She had been also previously Member of Task Force on Neuroscience, DBT, Member,Expert Committee on Physiology of Extreme Enviroment and Behavioural Sciences (PEE&BS) of Life Science research Board (LSRB), DRDO, Member, DST Expert Committee WOS-A. She is Fellow Indian Academy of Neurosciences (F-IAN), Fellow, Telangana Academy of Sciences (F-TAS) as well as Editorial Board Member, Biogerontology.

She has published about 46 Research Papers in prestigious Journals and 2 Popular Science books. Her research areas include Neurobiology, Neurodegeneration and Brain Aging, Molecular Chronobiology.
