Dr. B.R. Ambedkar 125th Year Birth Anniversary Celebrations Committee- University of Hyderabad has organized a Two Day National Conference titled Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s Perspectives on State, Society and Economy: Revisiting His Vision and Mission on 22nd – 23rd February, 2017. Professor G. Nagaraju, the conference coordinator has gave a call for paper presentation in the first week of January. He has also uploaded the concept note of the conference in the university website and international conference website in order to reach out the scholars across the countries and continents.
There are more than Two Hundred scholars from different parts of the country submitted their abstracts, out of which Ninety Two scholars were selected to present their papers. The conference started on 22/02/2017 and concluded on 23/02/2017. The conference has been scheduled into 14 sessions.
The programme started with garlanding the portrait of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Mr. Yogananda Kumbhar (Research Scholar, Department of Sociology, University of Hyderabad), welcomed all the distinguished guests, scholars, students, faculty members, and participants came from different parts of the country.
Subsequently, the programme was followed by the introductory remarks of the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. B.P. Sanjay, on the contribution of Dr. Ambedkar in nation building and presentation of his image and the ideas in media and media studies.
The conference theme was introduced by Professor G. Nagaraju, Department of Sociology, and also the chairman of the organizing committee of 125th year birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He introduced the conference theme by giving an overview of Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions and his Vision and Mission. He outlined the conference theme ranging from Ambedkar’s perspective on caste to science and technology.
He has extended his deep sense of appreciation to all the esteemed guests and participants, for giving their precious time for participating in the intellectual discourses on Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s vision and mission. He has welcomed all the young and energetic intellectuals, who came from different parts of the country.
