Dr. Bharatee Bhusana Dash, an esteemed alumnus of the School of Economics, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been appointed as an Associate Professor at the Centre for International Trade and Development (CITD), School of International Studies (SIS), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
Dr. Dash (MA, 2004; PhD, 2011) specializes in Development Economics, Public Economics, and Political Economy. His research focuses on the political economy of public policy, particularly fiscal policy, and its impact on economic outcomes such as growth and inequality in the Indian context. He has published extensively in these areas in several high-impact journals.
Prior to joining JNU, Dr. Dash served as an Associate Professor at Xavier University, Bhubaneswar. He has also held positions at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, New Delhi, where he worked as an Economist and later as an Assistant Professor.
In addition to his academic appointments, Bharatee was awarded the Shastri Post-Doctoral Fellowship in 2016-17. He also served as a Visiting Scholar (Research) at the Canada-India Centre, Carleton University, Ottawa, in 2014.
