Dr. Chandrasekhar Hota, an alumnus of MA (Political Science), 2005-2007, has been appointed as the Secretary of Odisha Sahitya Academy. He will also have the additional charge of Odisha Sangeeta Nataka Academy until further orders. Dr Hota, a Deputy Superintendent of Police officer, holds a Doctorate degree from Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur on “Representation of Hinduism by Vivekananda Kendra: A critical Appraisal”.

Dr Hota is an essayist, critic, columnist and translator. His publications include Kalpana, Anubhav O Sahitya (Essay Collection), Chetanara Anweshana (Essay Collection), Gandhi Kavita (Edited by himself), Astha Suryara Sakala o any a galpa guccha (Translated stories from Original English stories book “Fly on the wall and other stories” by Subha Sharma). He writes columns for reputed newspapers like Samaj, Sambad, Prameya, etc.

He is the recipient of Gokarnika Essay Award, Saraswat Samman, Mahuri Samman, Krushnendu Smruti Samman, Shri Shri Nigamananda Seva Samman, Brahmapur Pustak mela prabandha Samman, Bana Surabhi samman, Swatantra Saraswat Samman by Dasia Sanskrutik Parishad, and most notably the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar-2020 among others. He is currently on the editorial board of Odisha Sahitya Academy’s Literary Magazine ‘Konark’, published both in English and Odia.
