Dr. Krishna Reddy Chittedi, Associate Professor at the School of Economics, presented a paper titled “The Impact of the Free Electricity Program and Farmer Attitudes: A Study from the Telangana State of India.” ( co-authored with Dr. Mohammed Shameem P, GITAM University), in the International Symposium on Climate, Finance, and Sustainability (ISCFS-2024), held in Paris, France, on 21–22 November 2024.
In addition to presenting his paper, Dr. Chittedi chaired an “Energy, Environment, and Climate Models” session at the symposium. Jointly organized by AVSE Global, EMLV Business School, and Paris Dauphine University – PSL (Climate Economics Chair), in partnership with the Department of Land Economy at the University of Cambridge and the UMI SOURCE at the University of Paris-Saclay.
It brought together participants from over 20 countries to discuss key climate, finance, and sustainability issues. Keynote addresses were delivered by eminent leaders, including:
Amélie de Montchalin, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of France to the OECD.
Bertrand Badré, Founder of Blue like an Orange Sustainable Capital and former Managing Director of the World Bank.
Dr. Ben Caldecott, Director of the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group and UK Climate Change Committee member.
Other eminent speakers include Prof Anna Creti, a full professor at Université Paris Dauphine, Paris; director of climate economics chair (Un. Dauphine); and co-editor of the journal Energy Economics. Prof Stéphane Goutte, Professor – University Paris-Saclay, UMI SOURCE etc.
The symposium explored critical themes such as climate finance, renewable energy, green investments, and just energy transitions, underscoring the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in tackling global sustainability challenges.
