Dr. Kumara Swamy G, an alumnus, of the Department of Theatre Arts, SN School of Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad (UoH) under the guidance of Prof. Joly Putthussery is appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies, Christ University, Bangalore.

Dr. Swamy completed his M.P.A (HCU Merit Scholarships) and then PhD in Theatre Arts. Being born in a Folk Theatre family of Oggu Katha from the state of Telangana he was contributed immensely for more than 120 Theatre Performances, 15 Research paper presentations, conducted up to 60 Workshops at State, National and International levels. Dr. Kumara Swamy was awarded as Best Modern Theatre Practitioner by the Government of Telangana in 2018, the Scholarship from National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts (NACTA), Beijing, China, Multiple Awards by Royal Television Society (RTS), Cardiff-UK and directed Award Winning Short films.
Following his PhD, during post-doctoral research he gave many lectures on Indian Theatre & Culture also performed at NACTA, Peking University, Beijing, Indian Embassy, Beijing then worked as Lecturer in Theatre Arts at IIIT-Hyderabad, TSS-Government of Telangana, later he completed his Masters in Film Making with distinction from the UK then served as Principal i/C at Madhu Film Institute, Hyderabad.
