Dr. Satyabrata Rout, faculty of the Theatre Arts, S N School of Arts & Communication at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been invited to present paper in the International Shakespeare conference at Grand Valley Michigan, USA. He will be presenting a paper titled, “Indianizing Shakespeare: Adaptation and Performances”. He will be at the Grand Valley University from 1st to 23rd October 2016.

Dr. Rout will also conduct classes on Indian Theatre and Scenography to the students of theatre of that University and will also attend the Shakespeare Festival organised by the Conference committee.

Satyabrata Rout has completed his Masters in Theatre from National school of Drama, New Delhi, in 1983 with Design and Direction specialization. He has done Ph.D from C.C.S University, Meerut on the topic, “Influence of B.V karanth on Indian Dramaturgy: A critical study”. He was the Technical Director of Madhya Pradesh Rangmandal, Bhopal for six years. In 1989 he was associated with Barry John in Theatre in Education Company at NSD as a Teacher-Designer. Dr. Rout is a noted play director of National repute and has received several awards for his contribution to contemporary Indian Theatre, including META award and Manohar Singh Smriti Samman. In 2013 he has directed Girish Karnad’s Nagamandal and Vasa’s Urubangam in English for East 15 Acting School at the University of Essex, London and was widely appreciated. Since 2007 he is Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Hyderabad. He has got wide range of experience in theatre teaching, training and direction.
