Dr. Vaishnavi Mohite has been awarded the SynTalk Medal for her PhD thesis titled ‘Investigating Conscious and Unconscious Processes of Top-down Distractor Suppression’. She completed her doctoral research during 2018-24 under the supervision of Prof. Ramesh Mishra, Dean of the School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad. Dr. Mohite was presented a gold medal and a monetary award at a special function held at Mumbai in the presence of Prof. Mishra and other stalwarts from academia and industry.

 

SynTalk (short for Synthesis Talk) is an interdisciplinary talk show that explores the world through a philosophical and long-term perspective. It bridges ideas across a wide range of fields—from art and science to technology and philosophy—promoting original, cross-disciplinary dialogue. SynTalk seeks to foster intellectual exchange among academics, professionals, creatives, and the broader public, with the vision of becoming a global platform for boundary-free thinking.

Dr. Mohite is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Vision Lab, Centre for Neuroscience, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, working with Prof. S.P. Arun. We are incredibly proud of Dr. Mohite’s achievement and wish her continued success in all her future endeavors!
