Dr. DVK Vasudevan popularly known as (ViolinVasu), Music Teacher, Campus School, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been nominated as a member of the planning group for the textbook development team of NCERT and invited to attend the meeting from 6th – 8th July 2024 at the NCERT headquarters, New Delhi.

The planning group will work to develop curriculum and textbooks for school education as per the recommendations of National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023, which is based on the NEP 2020, it had been envisaged that the Arts will be a compulsory curricular area for school education from Grade 3-10. Being a subject, it has to be given due importance in the school education system, thus there will be a formal assessment in place and there is a need to introduce the textbooks for all Grades (3-10).
Dr. DVK Vasudevan says, “It is indeed an honour and privilege to be on the committee that will contribute to the curriculum for art education for the entire nation. I have been included because of the research contributions I have been making in the area of art and music education and their impact at school, college, and university levels”. “I would like to thank the university fraternity for the encouragement and support”, he added.
