Prof. Nagaraju Gundemeda, faculty in the Department of Sociology, School of Social Sciences at University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been awarded the Senior Research Associate Fellow position at the Department of Sociology, University of Johannesburg- South Africa.
This fellowship is for a period of three years (from May 2018- June 2021) and this position encourages academic visits, enables to work on the collaborative projects and publications.
Prof. Nagaraju has carried out extensive research on teacher agency in primary schools, schooling for girls, discriminatory practices in schools, and the social context of learning and achievement in elementary education. His areas of teaching and research interests cover the sociology of education, youth, and of India. He is also engaged in national and international projects on the comparative sociologies of schooling and anthropology of youth cultures in contemporary India. His publications cover the sociology of education and youth studies.
