The University of Hyderabad (UoH) as a part of its initiation of making a green campus has taken up the programme of converting the campus sustainable and green energy by using Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) energy system.
As part of its SPV energy programme, UoH has taken up installation of 1000 KWP of SVP Plant which is expected to cater to 50% of the needs of North Campus School buildings and it is expected to save the power bill up to 15% of the recurring bill.
The first unit of 100 KWP was inaugurated on 29th June 2017 by Sri D. Ramakrishna Rao, Deputy Secretary (Central Universities), Department of Higher Education, MHRD in the presence of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Appa Rao Podile and other senior officials of the University.
The University of Hyderabad has an ambitious programme of installing SPV to cover 100% of its needs under net metering policy.
