The Paintings, Sculptures and Prints of the final semester students of the Department of Fine Arts, Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communication at University of Hyderabad (UoH) were displayed at the department. More than 100 exhibits were on display made by thirty odd students of the department were inaugurated on 29th April 2016 and were exhibited till 3rd May 2016. The exhibition received impressive reviews from the students, staff and faculty of the University.
The exhibits were an initiative to reach out to the world by the final year students as they move up step by step bracing themselves for the final take off … to fly away far and near horizons … new and unknown pastures; to spread their wings and soar higher and higher … leaving behind trails of their presence on the premises which was their creative abode for two years. These students have been together at UoH for the last two years even though they all come from across the country, a diversity that shows distinctly in their art.
The show included recent works of the students that were displayed and included extending practices like painting, print-making and sculpture. Some of the artists integrated mixed media, performance, motor induced mechanisms, sound and video projections to enhance the visual experience.
