An MOU was signed between University of Hyderabad (UoH) and National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) on 26th April 2019, which is celebrated as World Intellectual Property Day to encourage innovation and creativity. The MoU was exchanged by Dr. H. Purushotham, Chairman and Managing Director, NRDC and Shri P Sardar Singh, Registrar, UoH in the presence of Prof. Appa Rao Podile, Vice-Chancellor, UoH and other officials from both institutions. The meeting was coordinated by Technology Industrial Liaison and Entrepreneurship Unit of UoH.

UoH has been selected by National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) for setting up of one of the Innovation Facilitation Centres. The objective of establishing the NRDC-Innovation Facilitation Centre is to promote IP & Innovation awareness and culture amongst the students, faculty, researchers and startups.

“Research and Innovation are now an integral part of Educational Institutions and I am happy that UoH has been selected by NRDC for setting up the Innovation Facilitation Centre”, said Prof. Appa Rao Podile, VC, UoH.


“With this collaboration, NRDC will be able to help UoH in filing IPRs and Patents based on research outcomes”, said Dr. H. Purushotham, Chairman and Managing Director, NRDC.

NRDC specialises in Technology Transfer, IP & Innovation Management and Project Consultancy. They have filed 1800 patents in the last ten years. As on date, NRDC has entered into 5000 License agreements and 500 MoUs are in force. It has also made technology transfer to 24 countries abroad.
