The School of Management Studies at University of Hyderabad (UoH) in association with AMDISA is organizing a two-day International Conference on “Internationalization of Management Development and South Asian Response” on 11th and 12th April, 2014. The Conference provides a platform for the eminent delegates to deliberate on the contemporary issues/challenges in the evolution of management development and south Asian response to it.
In the inaugural address, Mr. Mohammad Ibrahim Ghafoori, Director (HRT), SAARC, has told that South Asia is very rich in Manpower and the Governments must have strong political will towards uplifting the civil society. This is possible only when we bring appropriate policies and modalities on Human Resource Management, he added.
Mr. Ghafoori stated that South Asian countries have many challenges like poverty alleviation, energy crisis, combating terrorism, and effects of globalization. We can overcome these when we tackle the issues jointly, he stated.
Prof. Ramakrishna Ramaswamy, Vice Chancellor, UoH presided over the inaugural session and he emphasized the need to start fellowship programs by the institutions of SAARC countries on behalf of the South Asian University.
The panel discussions in the two-day conference will cover Education, Training, Consultancy and Research related to Management. Since it is a forum, where the leaders are present, an action plan to internationalize the regional aspirations to global demands would be the key take away of the two-day event.
Prof. Sita Vanka, Dean, School of Management Studies, UoH, is coordinating this conference.
