On December 10, 2024, the Department of Hindi, School of Humanities, University of Hyderabad (UoH) under the IoE Project ‘An Outline of Tibetan Literary Sources’ organized a journal release ceremony in hybrid mode at the Conference Hall, School of Humanities, University of Hyderabad. Prof. Bhim Singh, the Principal Investigator (PI) of the project, began the program by welcoming the distinguished guests with Tibetan Khatas, symbolizing a gesture of respect and goodwill in Tibetan culture. The Khatas were presented by Tensong Dolma, Tsering Dhondup, and Deskyong Angmo.
The ceremony was conducted in two sessions: the inaugural session and a special talk on the theme of the journal. The journal released is a special issue of the UGC CARE-listed journal ‘Sankalya’. The issue, titled ‘An Outline of Tibetan Literary Sources’ (तिब्बती साहित्यिक स्रोतों की रूपरेखा), was guest-edited by the project PI, Prof. Bhim Singh, Co-PI Dr. Arnav Keyur Anjaria, and Research Associate Dr. Setu Kumar Verma.
The Chief Guest, Vice-Chancellor Prof. B. J. Rao, led the journal release. In his speech, he congratulated the editorial team and emphasized the importance of documenting project outcomes in the form of academic journals. Prof. Rao noted the rarity of such projects and encouraged the research team to expand their scope to include other nations with shared cultural ties.
Prof. R. S. Sarraju, Chief Editor of Sankalya, highlighted the deep cultural and historical connections between India and Tibet. He recounted his involvement in previous programs organized under the project during his tenure as PVC at the University of Hyderabad. He acknowledged the contributions of the journal’s editors, Dr. Gorakhnath Tiwari and Dr. Shashikant Mishra, as well as the earlier Chief Editor, Prof. T. Mohan Singh.
Prof. M. Ghanshyam Krishna, Director of IoE at UoH, expressed his delight at the publication and highlighted the importance of such interdisciplinary research. He suggested the possibility of a second volume and assured his support for future endeavors under IoE.
Co-PI and Guest Editor, Dr. Arnav Keyur Anjaria, described the uniqueness of the project, which seeks to establish a new, in-depth discourse on Tibet—a topic of contemporary relevance. He noted that the issue features a holistic reflection on Tibet, with contributions from Tibetan scholars, Tibetan exiles, and Indian academics. Significant portions of the journal involve translations of materials from Tibetan and other languages.
Research Associate and Guest Editor, Dr. Setu Kumar Verma, emphasized the global significance of Tibet’s existence. He provided an overview of the project’s journey under UoH-IoE-RC5-036-22, which included over 20 special lectures, a national seminar, a Tibetan language workshop, an exhibition on Tibetan herbal medicine, a health camp, book reviews, movie screenings, panel discussions, and field visits to Tibetan heritage sites in India. He highlighted the diverse contributions from Indian and Tibetan scholars, which culminated in the creation of this special issue.
Prof. Amba Kulkarni, Incharge Dean of the School of Humanities and Chair of the inaugural session, expressed her interest in Tibetan studies due to the unique language family it represents and its role in transmitting Sanskrit and Buddhism from India to China. She commended the collaborative nature of the research.
In the second session, Prof. Shashi Mudiraj, Former Head of the Department of Hindi, delivered a detailed lecture on the journal’s content. She described the issue as starting with curiosity about Tibet and evolving into deep scholarly research. She explained the structure of the journal, which includes editorial notes, special lectures, research papers, book reviews, panel discussions, and interviews, all providing a literary lens on Tibet.
Prof. C. Annapurna, Chair of the session and Head of the Department of Hindi, spoke about the cultural, religious, and historical connections between India and Tibet. She congratulated the team for their achievement. The session was moderated by Priyanka Priyadarshini.
Prof. Bhim Singh concluded the ceremony by expressing his gratitude to Dr M. N. Rajesh, Dr. Arnav Keyur Anjaria, Dr. Setu Kumar Verma, Priyanka Priyadarshini, Ajay Prakash, Manisha Mahesh Kumar, and other contributors, including Dr. Suman Kumari, Tsering Dhondup, Suprabha Mahto, Rajendra Meena, Laxmi Solanki, Sunny Kumar, Chaudhary Balmiki Sharma, and the office staffs Bhavani, G Prasad, Rajesh and Pradeep, Sanjivayya, Deepika, Rammanohar and others for their integral roles in making this special issue a reality.

10 दिसंबर 2024 को, हैदराबाद विश्वविद्यालय के मानविकी संकाय के कॉन्फ्रेंस हॉल में हिंदी विभाग ने आईओई प्रोजेक्ट ‘तिब्बती साहित्यिक स्रोतों की रूपरेखा’ के अंतर्गत जर्नल विमोचन समारोह का आयोजन हाइब्रिड मोड में किया। कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत परियोजना के प्रमुख अन्वेषक (पीआई) प्रोफेसर भीम सिंह ने विशिष्ट अतिथियों का स्वागत तिब्बती खाता भेंट कर की। खाता, जो तिब्बती संस्कृति में सम्मान और सद्भावना का प्रतीक है, टेंसोंग डोलमा, त्सेरिंग धोन्डुप, और डेसक्योंग अंगमो द्वारा प्रस्तुत किए गए।
समारोह दो सत्रों में आयोजित किया गया—प्रारंभिक सत्र और जर्नल के विषय पर एक विशेष व्याख्यान। विमोचित जर्नल, यूजीसी केयर-सूचीबद्ध जर्नल ‘संकल्य’ का विशेषांक है। यह अंक, जिसका शीर्षक है ‘तिब्बती साहित्यिक स्रोतों की रूपरेखा’, परियोजना के पीआई प्रोफेसर भीम सिंह, सह-पीआई डॉ. अर्णव केयूर अंजारिया, और शोध सहयोगी डॉ. सेतु कुमार वर्मा द्वारा अतिथि संपादित किया गया।
मुख्य अतिथि, कुलपति प्रोफेसर बी. जे. राव ने जर्नल का विमोचन किया। अपने भाषण में, उन्होंने संपादकीय टीम को बधाई दी और शैक्षणिक जर्नल के रूप में परियोजना के परिणामों को प्रलेखित करने के महत्व पर जोर दिया। प्रो. राव ने ऐसे परियोजनाओं की दुर्लभता पर प्रकाश डाला और शोध दल को अपने कार्यक्षेत्र का विस्तार अन्य देशों तक करने के लिए प्रेरित किया।
‘संकल्य’ के प्रधान संपादक प्रो. आर. एस. सर्राजू ने भारत और तिब्बत के बीच गहरे सांस्कृतिक और ऐतिहासिक संबंधों पर प्रकाश डाला। उन्होंने अपनी सहभागिता को याद किया जो इस परियोजना के कार्यक्रमों में पीवीसी के रूप में रही थी। उन्होंने जर्नल के संपादकों डॉ. गोरखनाथ तिवारी और डॉ. शशिकांत मिश्रा, और पूर्व प्रधान संपादक प्रो. टी. मोहन सिंह के योगदान को स्वीकार किया।
आईओई-यूओएच के निदेशक प्रो. एम. घनश्याम कृष्ण ने इस प्रकाशन पर प्रसन्नता व्यक्त की और ऐसे अंतःविषयक शोधों के महत्व को रेखांकित किया। उन्होंने इस कार्य के दूसरे भाग की संभावना का सुझाव दिया और आईओई से पूर्ण समर्थन देने की इच्छा जताई।
सह-पीआई और अतिथि संपादक, डॉ. अर्णव केयूर अंजारिया ने परियोजना की विशिष्टता को रेखांकित किया। उन्होंने कहा कि यह परियोजना तिब्बत पर एक नई गहन विमर्श स्थापित करने का प्रयास करती है, जो आज के समय की आवश्यकता है। उन्होंने बताया कि इस अंक में तिब्बती विद्वानों, निर्वासन में रह रहे तिब्बतियों, और भारतीय विद्वानों के योगदान शामिल हैं। जर्नल का एक महत्वपूर्ण भाग तिब्बती और अन्य भाषाओं से अनुवादित सामग्री पर आधारित है।
शोध सहयोगी और अतिथि संपादक, डॉ. सेतु कुमार वर्मा ने तिब्बत के अस्तित्व के वैश्विक महत्व पर जोर दिया। उन्होंने परियोजना UoH-IoE-RC5-036-22 की यात्रा का विवरण दिया, जिसमें 20 से अधिक विशेष व्याख्यान, राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठी, तिब्बती भाषा कार्यशाला, तिब्बती हर्बल मेडिसिन प्रदर्शनी और स्वास्थ्य शिविर, पुस्तक समीक्षाएँ, फिल्म प्रदर्शनियां, पैनल चर्चाएं और भारत में तिब्बती विरासत स्थलों के फील्ड विजिट शामिल थे। उन्होंने भारतीय और तिब्बती विद्वानों के योगदान को रेखांकित किया, जिसने इस विशेषांक को एक महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेज बनाया।
मानविकी संकाय के प्रभारी अधिष्ठाता और उद्घाटन सत्र की अध्यक्ष, प्रो. अम्बा कुलकर्णी ने तिब्बती अध्ययन में अपनी रुचि व्यक्त की, जो भाषा परिवार की विशिष्टता और भारत से चीन तक संस्कृत और बौद्ध धर्म के हस्तांतरण में तिब्बत की भूमिका से जुड़ी है। उन्होंने इस शोध कार्य की सहयोगात्मक प्रकृति की प्रशंसा की।
दूसरे सत्र में, हिंदी विभाग की पूर्व अध्यक्ष प्रो. शशि मुदीराज ने जर्नल की विषयवस्तु पर एक विस्तृत व्याख्यान दिया। उन्होंने इस विशेषांक को तिब्बत के प्रति जिज्ञासा से शुरू होकर गहन शैक्षणिक शोध में विकसित होते हुए वर्णित किया। उन्होंने जर्नल की संरचना—संपादकीय टिप्पणियाँ, विशेष व्याख्यान, शोध पत्र, पुस्तक समीक्षाएँ, पैनल चर्चाएं और साक्षात्कार—को विस्तार से समझाया।
इस सत्र की अध्यक्ष और हिंदी विभाग की अध्यक्ष, प्रो. सी. अन्नपूर्णा ने भारत और तिब्बत के सांस्कृतिक, धार्मिक, और ऐतिहासिक संबंधों के बारे में बात की। उन्होंने टीम को उनकी उपलब्धि के लिए बधाई दी। सत्र का संचालन प्रियंका प्रियदर्शिनी ने किया।
समारोह के अंत में, प्रो. भीम सिंह ने डॉ. अर्णव केयूर अंजारिया, डॉ. सेतु कुमार वर्मा, प्रियंका प्रियदर्शिनी, अजय प्रकाश, मनीषा महेश कुमार और अन्य सहयोगियों, जैसे डॉ. सुमन कुमारी, त्सेरिंग धोन्डुप, सुप्रभा महतो, राजेंद्र मीना, लक्ष्मी सोलंकी, सनी कुमार, चौधरी बाल्मीकि शर्मा और कार्यालय कर्मचारी—भवानी, जी प्रसाद, राजेश, प्रदीप, संजीवैया, दीपिका, और राममनोहर—को उनके योगदान के लिए आभार व्यक्त किया।
