About 25 students visited the Kadapa as a part of their MSc Plant Biology and M.Sc. Plant Biology and Biotechnology course. They visited the Lead Botanical Garden at Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa, which is known to harbour more than 900 indigenous and exotic plants, including the Giant Water Lily (Victoria amazonica). The Botanical Garden was an exploration tour led by the Garden, Curator and Principal Investigator of the project, Prof. A. Madhusudhana Reddy.

The students also met the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chinta Sudhakar and the Registrar, Prof. Y. P. Venkata Subbaiah.  They could examine about 60 rare endemic plants and exotic plants from various parts of the world. On the way back they witnessed the beauty of the Penna River passing through the Gandikota valley, a precious scenic spot better known as the Grand Canyon of India.
