The NSS Cell, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has organised a cleanup programme at white rocks and lake on 9th September 2023 in coordination with the Sanitation department, UoH.
The volunteers and the workers of the Sanitation Department collected the plastic water bottles, bags, glass bottles, and their broken pieces thrown around by people. They swept the glass panes, collected them in the garbage bags, and made the surroundings neat. The misuse of the space at the white rock is leading to injury of wild animals, birds and polluting the lake instead of a beautiful vision to the visitors of the site.
They appealed to the university community who visit the rocks and the lake, not to indulge in the activities of spoiling the beautiful view of the place by littering it with glass bottles, water bottles, and plastic bags, which are prohibited on the campus. They said that the protection of ecological balance is everyone’s responsibility for the happy and safe living of the university community.
