The Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti (Ministry of Education, Govt. of India), in collaboration with the Department of Education and Education Technology at the University of Hyderabad, organized a lecture on the eminent philosopher and spiritual leader, Jagadguru Shri Shankaracharya. The event took place at the Zakir Hussain Seminar Hall, University of Hyderabad.


The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Ravula Krishnaiah, the Programme Coordinator and Assistant Professor at the Department of Education and Education Technology, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad. Prof. J. V Madhusudhan, Head of the Department of Education and Education Technology, provided a brief overview of the program.


The first speaker, CSR Prabhu, Former Director General of NIC, Government of India, delivered a thought-provoking lecture on "Advaita for Unification". His insights shed light on the philosophical underpinnings of Advaita Vedanta and the integration of basic science with nature, yoga, and Vedanta, highlighting their importance for holistic well-being and spiritual growth.


Prof. B J Rao, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, emphasized spiritual wisdom's importance in contemporary education and society, stressing the need for tapasya (austerity) and highlighting the fascinating journey of Shri Shankaracharya.


The event culminated with a captivating lecture by Prof. Gauri Mahulikar, Academic Director of Chinmaya International Foundation and Former Dean of Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Kochi. Prof. Mahulikar highlighted on "Adi Shankaracharya: The Great Integrator", delving into the life, teachings, and enduring legacy of Adi Shankaracharya. linked the discussion with the National Education Policy (NEP), emphasizing his enduring relevance in contemporary education.


The lecture was attended by around 100 participants, including scholars, faculty members, and students.
