Dr. G Manoj Kumar, Assistant Professor at Advanced Center for Research in High Energy Materials, University of Hyderabad delivered a talk on “Low-cost, No-cost undergraduate Physics experiments and online education resources” at a workshop on “Redesigning UG Physics syllabus under revised CBCS curriculum” at the Government Degree College, Kamareddy, Telangana University on 8th February, 2020.
Dr. Manoj Kumar’s presentation showed how students can be engaged in hand-on activity with very little money /zero money. Another aspect of his presentation was to show already available online resources that can aid the classroom teaching. The restructuring of syllabus emphasizes the need for hands-on education, use of internet resources for Physics learning. Also, some experiments/lab is suggested to for removal by higher education council. In the wake of this, there is need to rediscover how the Physics experiments can be performed with little available money or no money at all for some experiments.
The one day brainstorming workshop organised by the Govt. degree college, Kamareddy was attended by Physics faculty of Telangana University and physicists from Osmania University and Kakatiya University.
