Mr. Lucky Mirani (M.A., Political Science), represented the Telangana State team in the 4th Goalball National Championship, which was held in Gondia, Maharashtra, during 26-28 December, 2024 and won a bronze medal in the event. The tournament was conducted by the Goalball Federation of India in collaboration with the Tara Goalball Sports Association of Maharashtra. A total of 17 teams across India participated in this tournament, and the Telangana state team secured 3rd position, receiving a bronze medal from the dignitaries.

Telangana Blind Sports Association (TBSA), an organization that works to promote sports activities for the visually impaired in the Telangana region has been associated the event at National level.  TBSA is affiliated with the Indian Blind Sports Association (IBSA) and the Goalball Federation of India (GFI).

Shri. David, General Secretary of the Indian Blind Sports Association, Shri. Rajesh Singh, an IAS officer from Jharkhand, and Shri. Ramkaran Singh, an Arjuna Award winner, Directors from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Department of Sports of the Government of India, and members from the Maharashtra Department of Sports, appreciated the players for their dedication and spirit.

Shri. Naveen Kumar Arisetti, President, Telangana Blind Sports Association (TBSA) said “We are happy to see the support extended by the University and the Empowered Committee for Differently Abled Persons to the students.”
