Mahesh Admankar, an alumnus of the IMA Economics, 2008-13 has joined the Woxsen University School of Liberal Arts in Hyderabad as an Assistant Professor of Economics. He has been awarded the Transdisciplinary Research Fellowship by the University of Massachusetts Boston. This fellowship was established by the US-based Social Science Research Council (SSRC) in collaboration with the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Mahesh graduated with an MS in Public Policy and is currently completing his PhD in Public Policy at the University of Massachusetts Boston.

Hailing from a remote village in Telangana and an underprivileged social background, he is the first in his family to attend university. Recently, Mahesh also received the Founders Fellowship from the American Society for Public Administration, headquartered in Washington DC.

Mahesh attributes his success to the legacy of Dr. BR Ambedkar and the excellent public education provided by the University of Hyderabad (UoH) and the University of Massachusetts. Reflecting on his college days at UoH, he expresses deep gratitude to his teachers, staff, and friends for inspiring him towards learning and excellence.
