Dr. Mahesh Gokara will be joining as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Biophysics and Biophysical Chemistry, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, USA under the supervision of Dr. Mario A Bianchet from March 15th 2019. He obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. Degrees in Biochemistry, School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad. His Ph.D. thesis titled “In vitro and In silico binding studies of selected bioactive compounds with human serum albumin and α-1-glycoprotein: therapeutic significance“ was under the supervisor Prof. S. Rajagopal of the Department of Plant Sciences. After the completion of Ph.D he continued his research as Dr. D.S. Kothari postdoctoral fellow, which is one of the prestigious fellowships for postdocs by UGC in India under Prof. Naresh Babu V. Sepuri, Department of Biochemistry.
His Post-doctoral research at Johns Hopkins School of medicine focuses on pathways involved in cardio protection. Most of his research has covered many aspects of biology, which includes biochemistry, biophysics, computational biology and proteomics. He favors interdisciplinary approaches to seek answers for biological questions and have incorporated biological and computational approaches in his research .To his credit, he published research work in 13 international journals with the citations of more than 580 (Google Scholar link: https://bit.ly/2VFikQb ).

Apart from being active in his research, Dr. Mahesh pursued his passion in Photography. He also won 1st prize in Calendar (2017) Photography Contest that was organized at the University of Hyderabad. Apart from this he won three national wide photo contests adjudged by reputed professional photographers.
