Subhrajit Swain on his upcoming role as a ‘Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network Fellow – CaviPRO’ at the University of Limerick, Ireland. He will be working on the project ‘Improving mixing, nucleation and crystal size distribution in crystallisers using hydrodynamic cavitation’, identified by project number ‘DC5’, under the supervision of Prof. Vivek Ranade, Bernal Chair Professor of Process Engineering at Bernal Institute, University of Limerick, Ireland, and a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Queen’s University Belfast, UK. This endeavor will also involve collaboration with Pfizer, marking an exciting industry partnership.
Subhrajit, who is currently pursuing his MSc in Chemistry (2022-2024 batch), has been selected for the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) fellowship, a highly esteemed and generously funded program under the European Union. Recognized for his academic excellence, he has excelled in his postgraduate studies at the University of Hyderabad, where he worked on the drug delivery of APIs through multicomponent cocrystals under the guidance of Prof. Ashwini Kumar Nangia. His contributions to this project have yielded publishable outcomes.
In addition to his academic achievements, Subhrajit secured the CSIR-Junior Research Fellow (JRF) qualification in December 2023, with an All-India Rank of 89. His dedication to excellence is further evidenced by his consistent receipt of merit-based scholarships from the Government of Odisha since his undergraduate years, during which he earned the distinction of being a Gold Medalist in Chemistry.
