The School of Physics, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has procured a 12-inch MEADE telescope (U.K.). It has been recently installed by Dr. Naslim N (ex-faculty), Dr. Ashoka VS and Dr. P. Prem Kiran.
This telescope offers a resolving power of 0.380 arc seconds for the improvement of brighter star clusters, more fine detail in nebulae and greater surface features on planets is an ideal tool for introducing students to extra-terrestrial objects. It is geared with an automated star tracking mechanism along with a cryo-cooled camera to capture very fine stellar images.
