The University of Hyderabad (UoH) witnessed a spectacular musical evening on the event of YAMINI 2016 curtain raiser in the C.V. Raman auditorium of the University on 8th August 2016.
Sitarist Shri Gaurav Mazumdar, disciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar and accompanying him in tabla was Shri Ravi Kiran Nakod garu, faculty in the University of Karnataka. The pair gave a breathtaking performance amidst the music enthusiasts of the University and guests from the city. The journey that started with raga Madhuwanti and ended with Mishra Peelu elevated the mind and soul of the audience into a greater horizon of tranquillity.
The concert was dedicated to the memory of Prof. A.V. Raja a well-known sitar artist, who was a faculty at the School of Economics, UoH. People like Shri Mohan Hammadi Garu and faculty/staff/students from the University showed up to their love for music and became a part of the magical evening.
The main event of SPIC MACAY, YAMINI 2016 is scheduled on 14th Aug 2016 20:30(IST+ hours) in the DST auditorium within the premises of the University of Hyderabad.
