Nandi Chinni Kumar, PhD research scholar in Comparative Literature at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) had been selected to the Prestigious Harvard University’s 7th Edition “World Literature Program 2017”, being held at University of Copenhagen, Denmark from July 3rd – July 26th’ 2017. He will be attending the seminars on world literature and presenting a paper on ‘Melodrama in Hindi Cinema’ in the world cinema and world literature colloquium.
The Institute for World Literature (IWL) has been created to explore the study of literature in a globalizing world.. World Leading literary figures in World Literature like Alexander Breecroft – University of South Carolina, Christian Dehl – University of Copenhagen , Thomas Claviez – University of Bern, David Damrosch – Harvard University etc. are participating and will offer seminars and lectures. Nearly 160 Participants are participating from around 70 countries from all over the globe
Last year Nandi Chinni attended the World Literature Program 2016 at Harvard University, USA.
Biography
Nandi is a PhD Research Scholar in Comparative Literature at University of Hyderabad. He is an independent Filmmaker as well. He is a talent Campus India alumni (Series of Filmmaking Workshop Conducted by Berlin International Film Festival, and Berlinale Talent Campus) and his short film flycatcher was officially selected in competition and screened at Mumbai International Film Festival 2014 and other festivals. He has written and directed his debut feature English film “The Seventh Bowl” which has been entered into various film festivals.
He has also participated in International conference in Indonesia and presented a paper on Asian Cinema.
Nandi did his schooling from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya , Gachibowli, Graduation from Nizam College and completed Masters in Communication from University of Hyderabad.
