Department of Telugu, University of Hyderabad (UoH) organised a distinguished talk on ‘The Necessity of Studying Telugu Literature’ by Prof. Rachapalem Chandrasekhar Reddy on 21st March 2018 in the School of Humanities Auditorium.

Prof. Rachapalem is a prolific writer and Central Sahitya Academy Awardee for literary criticism. He elaborated on literature from classical to modern. “As it belongs to the social groups it should be studied or discussed very seriously. As literary forms to the ideas of the people it is the responsibility of Society writers in producing good ideas which would belong to the people”, said Prof. Rachapalem. “Since Nannayya to the present day poet, poets beautify the world to perceive. Telugu Literature should try to spread good ideas in the society”, he added.

The session was presided over by Prof. Tummala Ramakrishna, Head, Department of Telugu. Prof. Darla Venkateswara Rao, Dy.Dean, Students’ Welfare gave the welcome and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Bhujanga Reddy. Prof. G.Aruna kumari Prof. R.V. Ramakrishna Sastry, Prof. Pillalamarri Ramulu, Dr P. Pavan Kumar and Dr. D. Vijayakumari have participated in this talk.
