As part of 23rd All India Forests Sports Meet-2017, the University of Hyderabad (UoH) NSS volunteers are actively involved in assisting the 25 km run conducted on January 11, 2017. The AIFSM is aimed at promoting sports and games activities among the staff and officers of the Forest Departments and allied Institutions of all the States, UT and Central Government and thereby nurturing good health & team spirit.


Total 30 NSS volunteers from the UoH have joined in the assisting activities the event organisers. All these volunteers were oriented on their roles and responsibilities by the NSS Coordinator, Dr. V. Srinivasa Rao and some event organisers from the Forest Department on 10-01-2017. Accordingly, these 30 volunteers have been segregated to various water points within the campus. Apart of closely watching and examining the participants in the running, these volunteers also distributed water bottles, refreshments and clinical supervision to the participants during their marathon.


These volunteers have been appreciated by the officials of forest department and the event organisers for their commitment, punctuality and voluntary service. The volunteers were provided t-shirts, breakfast and certificate for their service.
