Prof. B V R Chowdhari, Senior Executive Director at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore visited the University of Hyderabad (UoH) on 28 July 2017 and held discussions with the officials and students.

NTU which is a research intensive university has 33000 students and focuses on intensive research in the areas of Water, Energy and Healthcare. It has been ranked at no 11 in the QS World Rankings 2018 and at no 54 in the Times Higher Education Rankings 2016. Prof. Chowdhari met the Deans of the various Schools and other officials in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Appa Rao Podile, briefed them about the university and its various programmes and research strengths. He said that for India NTU has come up with the NTU-India Connect programme to forge collaborations with institutions in the country and also to invite research scholars and scientists who can be part of NTUs research programmes and internship programmes. NTU also looks for collaborations with institutions in several programmes like student and faculty exchanges, joint symposia and award of joint degree.

Later Prof. Chowdhari met the students of UoH at the C V Raman Auditorium along with Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. P Prakash Babu and Deputy Dean-Students Welfare, Prof. Darla Venkateswara Rao. He briefed them about the university and various research programmes available for them at NTU.
