Ms. Solanki Chakraborty is presenting a paper at the 2022 Annual Colloquium of the Henry Sweet Society for the History of Linguistic Ideas to be held in University of Leuven, Belgium from 20-22 September 2022.

Solanki is a PhD Scholar in the Center for English Language Studies, School of Humanities. She is working under the supervision of Prof. Pingali Sailaja. She is also a recipient of the ICSSR Doctoral Fellowship since 2021.

The theme for the Colloquium this year is ‘Blind Spots in the History of Linguistic Thought: Forgotten or Neglected Voices, Areas, Approaches and Methods’. Her paper is titled ‘Language Learning as a Means of Effective Governance: Examining Select Dialogue Books in 19th Century Colonized India’.
